For over three decades, I have been training, coaching, and showing hunters and jumpers. The last six years, I leased the facility at Oxer Ridge Farm LLC in Newberg, OR where my clients and I focused on showing locally at Hunter Creek and some in California.
My husband Mark and I moved to the Portland area in 2008 after living in the San Luis Obispo area in California for over 20 years. I ran a hunter-jumper training program in Paso Robles and in San Luis Obispo, showing on the northern California circuit and in Indio/Thermal. I trained for Pebble Beach Equestrian Center in 1986 as the head of their Hunter-Jumper program. We moved back to the San Luis Obispo area when my husband and I bought our ranch in Templeton.
I believe in a calm, positive, and patient teaching method, stressing the basics for both horse and rider. I also incorporate flatwork into my training of horses and riders as it is critical to their success. I will also design lessons and programs that will meet my clients' individual goals.
I am also known as a highly effective rider, able to start green horses as well. I had great instructors as a junior rider and worked my way through the ranks by riding the young horses, coaching, and catch riding.
I stress a safe, happy, positive, supportive barn at home as well as at shows.
